紅葉の名所として知られる京都市左京区の永観堂（禅林寺）で2023年11月1日、秋の夜間特別拝観「もみじのライトアップ」の試験点灯が行われた。イロハモミジ、ヤマモミジなど約3000本の一部が色づき始め、例年より多い850基の照明に浮かび上がった。
