At approximately 5:10 a.m. on June 29, 2026, the first local train of the day (a four-car set) bound for Kashiharajingu-mae Station derailed within the Kintetsu Kyoto Line's Kyoto Station complex in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City. The Japan Transport Safety Board of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is investigating the incident.
