大蛇に見立てた青竹を断ち切る伝統の古儀「竹伐り会（たけきりえ）式」が2024年6月20日、京都市左京区の鞍馬寺であった。弁慶かぶりの僧兵姿の地元住民が、豪快に山刀を振り下ろした。

The traditional ancient ritual of cutting green bamboo, which resembles a giant snake, called the "Takekirie Ceremony" took place at Kurama Temple in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City on June 20, 2024. A local resident dressed as a warrior monk wearing a Benkei costume swung down a mountain sword with great force.
