2025年4月12日の午前6時50分ごろ、京都市下京区のJR京都駅のホーム上で不審物が見つかり、在来線ホームが封鎖された。JR京都線（東海道線）や琵琶湖線（東海道線）、奈良線、嵯峨野線（山陰線）が約2時間運転を見合わせるなど、朝のダイヤが大きく混乱した。
京都府警下京署によると、不審物は外国製の菓子で危険物ではなかったが、土曜日の朝の京都駅は観光客らで大混雑となった。

At around 6:50 a.m. on April 12, 2025, a suspicious object was found on the platform of JR Kyoto Station in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, and the conventional line platform was closed. JR Kyoto Line and Biwako Line were suspended for about two hours, causing major disruption to the morning schedule. According to the Kyoto Prefectural Police Shimogyo Station, the suspicious object was a foreign-made snack and was not dangerous, but Kyoto Station was crowded with tourists on Saturday morning.
