The "Yukitoro" event, which lights up the "Kayabuki-no-Sato" district, a nationally designated important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings in Miyama-cho, Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture, will be held every day until February 1, 2025. Although there has been no snow this year, the mountain village is softly lit at night and many tourists are strolling around.

The event is held every year by an executive committee made up of the Kitamura Kayabuki-no-Sato Preservation Society and others. From around 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, spotlights are used to light up 22 thatched houses. Around 300 lanterns and lanterns are also lined up along the road.

The snow is limited to the tops of the mountains towering behind the village, and there is no snow left in the village, but tourists from Japan and abroad stroll under the fantastically lit eaves of the houses.
In the cold wind, 12 food stalls using local ingredients such as venison stew and wild boar meat buns were lined up, and many people were warming themselves.
Parking must be reserved at least one day in advance. Applications can be made through Yuki Toro's official website.
